Agnes Thompson Jones was born September 23, 1936 in San Antonio, Texas to George M. Thompson and Margaret (Sloan) Thompson. She passed on November 2, 2020 in Waxahachie, Texas. A dedicated and loving mother and grandmother, Agnes grew up in a time when girls were not allowed to drive, swim, or wear blue jeans. Agnes worked as a foster parent at the Texas Baptist Home for Children for fifteen years. Married for twenty-eight years, Agnes raised four children. In her spare time, Agnes enjoyed reading, writing poetry and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children; Donna Jones, Diana Wendel and husband Todd, Dawn Raye and husband Scott, Dee Morgan and husband Todd; grandchildren, Amanda Thomson and husband Rob, Lauren Fennell and husband Bailey, Courtney Spears and husband Craig, Jacob Morgan, Matthew Morgan, Jessica Mobley and husband Mack; great grandchildren, Aiden, Josey, Daniel, Oliver and Cara. Agnes is also survived by her siblings, Alvin Thompson and wife Judy, Roy Thompson and wife Patsy, Maebelle Beshears and husband Lawson.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters Irene Jones and Frances Clippard; and brothers Manus Thompson and J.C. Thompson.

Visitation will be Sunday, November 8, 2020 from 1:00 to 3:00PM at Boze Mitchell McKibbin Funeral Home, 511 West Main Street, Waxahachie, Texas. Graveside service will follow at 3:00PM at Waxahachie City Cemetery.

Donations may be made in Agnes’ honor to Texas Baptist Home for Children.
