Obituary for Alejandro Palomino

Alejandro Palomino was born on May 2, 1926 to Rufina and Cecilio Palomino in Peru. He entered the presence of his Heavenly Father on October 17, 2022. Alejandro grew up on a farm in Peru and later moved to Lima, at the age of 7, to help his family work. Later in life he earned a degree in education and served as principal of an elementary school in Peru. He married his beloved wife, Salome Infante on September 9th, 1951 and the couple proudly welcomed seven children, Zelmira, Alfredo, Gladis Reida, Albertd, Lourdes Sonia, Rut and Saly. They enjoyed 71 years of love and devotion to each other, and their family.

He was an excellent provider and loving father to all of his children. A generous and forgiving man, he always strove to ensure the safety and prosperity for those he cared for. Simply, his care and kindness are easily illustrated with the river he would carry his children across before they were able to cross on their own because they were afraid and could not jump to the first rock, even while holding his hand. Alejandro’s warmth did not stop at his family. He was kind and good to strangers and loved his fellow man. He relished greeting people as hello and goodbyes were super important to him.

Alejandro had a strong, quick wit all of his life. He was good with rhymes and making jokes. He had a sweet tooth and loved cake. Though he could be serious and disciplined, strong and a hard worker, Alejandro had a bright spirit that was light-hearted and lively. He was an excellent dancer and most any music had him up and on his feet. He especially loved Peruvian music and Tangos.

He loved his children and grandchildren who were fond of him and all knew him as Papá Ale. Most of all, he was proud of their accomplishments and enjoyed spending time with them reminiscing and sharing stories about his youth and upbringing which will never be forgotten.

He is preceded in death by his parents Cecilio Palomino and Rufina Cordova; and siblings Jacinto, Constonsa, Benigno, Albino, Pelayo, Concepcion, and Issac.

He is survived by his beloved wife Salome; his children Zelmira, Alfredo, Albertd, Lourdes, Rut, Saly, and Gladis Reida – who was his primary care giver for the last 11 years; grandchildren Tracy, Janice, Tamara, Alex, Lily, Bryan and Stephen; and sister Lydia Palomino.
