Obituary for Alicia "Nina" Norman
Alicia Renee Norman, age 62, gained her heavenly wings on Wednesday, November 3rd, 2021. She was born Alicia Oden on August 31, 1959 in Grapevine Texas.
She is preceded in death by parents Clifton and Patsy Oden. She is survived by son Corey Norman, her daughter Callie Green and granddaughter Harlie Green, her sister Beverly, her husband Charlie Dodd and nephews Brandon Oden and Hank Young and numerous friends.
Early in life Alicia knew she wanted to help people and was drawn into the police field. Alicia was a retired police officer who loved to serve. She gave her time and service to the communities of Waxahachie, Lancaster, Glenn Heights, and Midlothian where she retired in 2008. She continued to work after retirement because she wanted to continue to be with people. She enjoyed hosting at Ryan’s café and being able to chat with all the customers. She most recently worked in the Optometry department of Walmart to continue being around others.
She loved her children and would do anything to help them. Spending time with family was her favorite. One of her greatest joys was becoming “Nina” and she was so very proud of her Harlie.
Alicia had a giving heart and a contagious smile. She would give the shirt off her back to a stranger. She enjoyed playing games with friends and family, Canasta with online friends, sitting outside watching hummingbirds and spoiling her dogs Faith and Lanie rotten.
A celebration of life will be held a Boze Mitchell McKibbin Funeral Home in Waxahachie Texas.
