Obituary for Amber Caperton

Amber Leeann Caperton united with her Lord and Savior May 20, 2023. She was born June 15, 1993 to Vickie and Michael Holley in Waxahachie, Texas – and grew up in and around Ennis where she made her home. Amber devoted her life to her husband David, children Gannon, Colton, and stepchildren Leah, Braylynn, and Cheyenne.

A stay-at-home mother and homemaker, Amber always made sure to have David a warm meal when he came home from work. She loved her children more than anything. Amber was gifted at crafting, making t shirts, cups, diamond pen pictures and homemade gifts. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing, camping, mudding in trucks or four wheelers, gardening, riding through the woods, and gathering around a bonfire with friends and family. Amber never missed the opportunity to cheer on her beloved New Orleans Saints and LSU football team. She could often be found watching the Golden Girls or Game of Thrones, and she loved all Marvel movies. Country music artist Cody Johnson was her favorite; she and David would dance in the kitchen for hours, without a care in the world, just enjoying the moment together. The two married in March of 2021, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Amber was very funny, and those around her will attest to her good humor and jokes. She was quick to help others, always supporting her friends and family. And she wasn’t afraid to tell you what she thought – a heart of gold with the mouth of a sailor. Amber was also a Believer. She attended J Bar C Cowboy Church in Palmer, was a faithful member, and had been baptized there in 2019.

She is preceded in death by her grandmother Melinda Reaves; aunt Linda Traut; and grandfather Buddy Cryer.

Amber is survived by her beloved husband David Caperton, children Gannon Caperton and Colton Mosley; stepchildren Leah Caperton, Braylynn Caperton, and Cheyenne Caperton; sister April Wiley; mother Vickie Reed; father Michael Holley; in-laws Larry and Stephanie Splawn, Jerry and Peggy Gayler, and Robert Zapata.
