Obituary for Annette Myrtle Chance (Huke)

Annette Myrtle Chance, age 88, passed away on December 13, 2020. She was born on March 13, 1932 in Amarillo, Texas to her parents, Myrtle Xenia (Haynie) and Alfred A. Huke, Jr. She graduated from Topeka High School. Annette attended Washburn University for 2 years. Annette devoted herself to the success of her husband's Marine Corps career, her two boys, and her grandchildren. In addition, she enjoyed her professional life which included, a dental assistant, interior designer, and an Elementary, Pre-K teacher. Annette loved her own art and crafts, especially painting, she also enjoyed gardening, yard work, golf, tennis, cooking, and being a part of gourmet cooking clubs.

Annette is survived by her children, Brad Chance and wife Holly, Chip Chance and wife Sandy; grandchildren, Marianne, Sam and Jack; niece, Dee Wright; and nephew, Tad Doughty.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Col. James Chance, USMC Ret.; grandchild, Jay Chance, and sister, Virginia Doughty.

A memorial service will be held at 3PM, Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home.
