Artos Ray McDonald was born on November 22, 1933 in Collin County, Texas to Vernie and Duncan McDonald Jr. He went home to be with the Lord on March 22, 2022. In his later years, he worked at building a strong relationship with God. He was a Lutheran. Known to his friends as Mac, he grew up in Pike, Texas as an only child, and moved to Dallas County at the age of 13. Mac graduated from high school in Wilmer Hutchins in 1951 and went on to graduate Television Technical School in Dallas. He became an expert Television Technician. On September 11, 1953 Mac married Mary McDonald. The couple would have been married 69 years this September. They had four children, nineteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Family was the most important thing to him. He especially enjoyed the holidays with them. There was always a big Christmas gathering, large Easter egg hunts, Fourth of July parties and Mac was sure to video tape every birthday starting in thee 50’s and continuing on through the 80’s. He had a great love for his grandmother, Ma Ada, and looked forward to going to visit and stay with her.

Mac loved waterskiing and boating, racing cars and driving fast. He enjoyed working on cars and the go-cart for the kids. His favorite place was going to the lake with his family. In later years, he enjoyed talking on the CB in his shop, cussing his nemesis. He watched western movies and documentaries on the war and countries. He loved country music and his all time favorite song was “My Woman, My Woman, My Wife” by Marty Robbins. He really enjoyed listening to music on his Juke Box in the garage.
