Obituary for Barry Alan White

Barry Alan White was born October 2, 1959 in Dallas, Texas to Peggie Ann Wiggins and James Harold White. A rambunctious child, always out and about; he grew up mostly in Lancaster, Texas. After high school, he worked in a print shop most of his adult life. Barry was a fun loving character of a man. He believed everywhere he went, he was the life of the party!

Barry’s life was music. He sang and played guitar; for a long time he was in a death metal band, as a drummer and bass guitarist. Though he loved the comfort of home, on any given Friday or Saturday night you could find him at a karaoke bar singing his heart out. His signature song was “Creep” by Radiohead. He loved all music, old rock, country, metal – his taste ranged all over the place. However, Elvis was his favorite artist.

Barry was the king of horribly amazing dad jokes. His favorite thing to do was tell stories, mostly funny ones. One night when headed home there was a security guard posted at the entrance to his apartment complex. The security guard asked him his name; Barry truthfully replied, and the guard chucked, “like the famous singer?”. Barry retorted, “And as you can tell, yes the hillbilly transplant worked!” The guard laughed so hard he could hardly stop. To call Barry funny, is an understatement.

He loved dogs, and spicy foods. He was an adventurous eater. He took his coffee black, with sugar. He had the worst road rage. He loved all sorts of movies and shows but was definitely a sucker for old timey cowboy moves. John Wayne was his favorite. He wasn’t a very religious man but was raised Christian. He prayed and read bible verses when he was feeling low.

Though he never married, Barry’s greatest joy was his children: son Cheyenne White and daughter Daylin White. He also had a bonus daughter who he loved as his own, April Binnicker. Family was very important to him. He loved family functions and insisted that they all be together for holidays. He loved his kids more than anything.

He is preceded in death by his mother Peggie Wiggins; father James White; grandmother Ruth Wiggins; grandfather William Wiggins; grandmother Eliza White; and uncle Donald Wiggins.
Barry is survived by children Cheyenne White and wife Chandler, Daylin White and their mother Adela Musgrove and her daughter April Binnicker; sister Shari Singleton and husband James; sister Dawn Michelle Lakey; brother James Lance White; brother Bruce White; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

There will be a celebration of life held at Daylin’s home on August 6, 2022.
