Soft-spoken, easy going, and yes, just a good ole cowboy was our Uncle Ben. He was only about 7 when their dad died, so our Dad Carl, who was the oldest brother stepped in and helped raise him and Uncle Dub. Those two had a great role model, and they did our dad proud. Peace and comfort in the days ahead for all of the family.
RIP Uncle Ben.

I have fond memories of Uncle Ben. He lived with his mother (my grandmother) and brother (Dub) when I was a kid on the farm in Irene. He took me with him to pick up truck loads of roping calves down in So. Texas on a couple of occasions when I was about 14. I also visited him at the Feed Store many times in DeSoto when I lived there. He was an "old cowboy" in every sense of the word. Condolences to Debbie, Bennie and the rest of his extended family.
