Billie Kay Taylor Sherrell, born November 18, 1955, joined the Lord on August 9, 2020 at the age of 64. Billie is survived by her daughter, Jamie Lesa Hendrick and husband Jonathan; three grandchildren, James Eric Hendrick, Janessa Elayne Hendrick, and Callista Jane Hendrick; sisters, Marian Ritchie and husband George, Lottie Noble and husband Don, and Carolyn Brown and husband David; sisters-in-law, Linda Sims, Lesa Sherrell, and Linda Sherrell; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Billie is preceded in death by husband, James Sherrell; parents, Sylvia and W.T. Taylor; parents-in-law, L.J. and Betty Sherrell; sister, Sarah Faye Sims; brother, Sammy Robert Sims; brother-in-law, Robbie James Sherrell; and nephews, Rod Sims, Joey Sims, Jeremy Sherrell, and Joshua Sherrell.

Billie Kay was loved by many and was called Momma, Aunt K-K, K-K, and simply Billie Kay. The youngest of six children, she grew up in Oak Cliff, TX where she graduated from Sunset High School and met and married James Sherrell. They loved children; they would frequently enjoy keeping their nieces and nephews for weekend adventures. Shannon and Mitchell held a particularly special place in her heart. Billie and James were thrilled to be blessed with a daughter, Jamie, in 1983. She and James eventually settled in Corsicana, TX where they raised their daughter. Billie and James operated several small businesses over the years and believed in hard work and perseverance. Over the years Billie has been a waitress, a janitor, operated a snow cone stand, a Christmas tree lot,and a pawn shop, and been an office manager for the family businesses all while also being a full time mom. There was always a place for Jamie in the office or at a counter. She inspired and pushed her daughter to pursue college and career with strong work ethic and dedication. Billie loved to ride motorcycles with her husband, siblings, and friends. It was a sight to behold Billie on a Yamaha scooter with a cane, easily keeping pace with the Honda Valkyrie and Harleys in the group. She also loved camping and boating with family and friends. Sherrell cookouts at the lake were the place to be! She wrote poetry and loved to paint, sharing her faith in God through art. She had a vibrant personality and is well and truly missed by those her life has touched.

Kay Kay, you always had that crazy funny love ever body personality. I will always remember all the fun times we had at the sand hills on the four wheelers. Also all the fun we had at the Casinos. We laughed and had a blast.
I’ll miss my KK until we meet again. I know you are having a big party with James, Sammy, Sarah& Mother now. Love you and see you soon. Carolyn & My David

So enjoyed the video of pictures. I listened to the funeral, enjoyed your comments Jamie and enjoyed Marian’s comments. Lots of fun shared with everyone. I have fond memories of Billie Kay and Marian coming and singing songs at our house, when WT and Sylvia would come and visit, lots of fun was had by us cousin’s. When will you go to the graveyard, if you could call or text me I would appreciate it. Diane Varley 808-285-1843
