Obituary for Brenda Lou Allen (Newland)

Brenda Lou Allen was born September 8, 1939 to Edith and Virgil Newland, in Ennis, Texas. She entered into eternal rest on December 13, 2022. Brenda grew up in Ennis and lived there her whole life. She served her community as a Sunday School teacher for many years at Faith Assembly Church. Brenda married Donald Allen and the couple shared three children, nine grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and fifty love filled years together.

Brenda was a Godly woman; loving and sincere she was an exceptional wife, mother, aunt, sister and most of all Nanny. There was no place she would rather be than with her family and at church. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren play in all sports games – football, baseball, basketball. She favored the colors yellow and purple. Brenda loved the music of George Jones, Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, and could often be found watching Gun Smoke and her love was Gospel Music Hymns and watching Frances and Friends. She had a sense of humor that also taught lessons. One Christmas, her granddaughter Brandy remembers, Brenda let everyone have their presents, except for 10 year old Brandy. After she had started to cry, Brenda presented her granddaughter with her present, a CD Player.

She is preceded in death by her daughter Teresa Crow; husband Donald Allen; parents Edith and Virgil “Jack” Newland; sisters Rita Isom, LaDonna Kristen, Barbar Molidor; and brothers V.J. Newland and Billy Newland.

Brenda is survived by sons Donnie Allen and wife Joette, Larry Allen and wife Leona; grandchildren Joe Crow, Jason Crow, Brandy Lutz, Stephanie Mitchell, Hillery Turner, Brittney Moreno, Larry Allen Jr, Jacob Allen, Johnathan Allen; great grandchildren Kendall Scroggins, Kyliee Scroggins, Colton Lutz, Owen Moreno, Skyler Allen, Chad Allen, James Cote Jr, Tyler Crow, Wyatt Crow, Nathan Allen, Emily Allen, Madison Allen, Kassidy Allen, William Gilley, Joshua Allen, Teresa Mitchell, Audrey Mitchell, Michelle Mitchell, Hilton Crow, Brooklyn Crow, Cheyenne Lucky, Emma Crow, Dylan Crow, Charlie Turner; sisters Linda Maggard, Joan Jensen, Loretta Wiese, Davie Newland and Danny Newland.
