Carl Frank Summers was born October 20, 1950 in Lynch, Kentucky. He departed on July 21, 2022. Carl spent his younger years in Lynch, Ky; Rockwood, Tn; and Kopperston, Wv. He graduated Oceana High School in 1968, of Oceana, Wv, and attended Wyoming County Vocational School, of Pineville, WV, to study drafting. Carl is remembered for his servant’s heart, always standing up for what’s right, always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need.
Carl made his living as a truck driver and mechanic. His love of all things automotive was apparent as an avid racing fan. He loved NHRA. His favorite place to be was at the racetrack, any racetrack. Carl enjoyed outlaw country, and was a huge fan of Willie Nelson. He was a fortunate to have seen Willie in concert many times, even meeting him several.
He is preceded in death by his father Clarence Summers, mother who died at his birth, Gertrude Harris Summers, mother Wanda Oakley Summers; wife Teresa Pederson Summers; wife Patricia Summers; brother in law Sammy Rahal.
Carl is survived by his brother Steve Summers and wife Sherry of Red Oak, Texas; sister Susan Summers Lugo and husband Ramiro of Waxahachie, Texas; sister Sarah Summers Rahal of Beaver, West Virginia; best friend Ellen Harris and his beloved dog Bertie.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 from 4:00PM to 6:00 P.M. at Boze Mitchell McKibbin Funeral Home Chapel in Waxahachie.
Funeral services to celebrate Carl’s life will follow at 6:00 P.M also at Boze Mitchell McKibbin Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Waxahachie City Cemetery.
