Obituary for Carol Tarrant (Tarrant)

Carol Tarrant, age 78, of Waxahachie, passed away early Monday morning, September 21, 2020 at Baylor Scott & White Waxahachie. In her final hours, she was surrounded with love from her husband and daughter, Heather, and son-in-law, Keith. She was born March 1, 1942 in Henderson County, Texas to Jake and Myrtle (Baker) McGee. Carol taught intermediate 6th grade math for over 30 years across multiple school districts. She was a member of the Texas Retired Teacher Association, and the Windsor Park Baptist Church in DeSoto. Known as “MiMi” to her grandchildren, she loved them dearly and enjoyed sewing for them. She also enjoyed her weekly Saturday night dates with her husband and their dearest friends, Don and Mayme Martin; which began almost 40 years ago. Additional longtime friends include Richard and Jeanie Tidwell.

Survivors include her loving husband of 57 years, Alan Tarrant; two daughters, Jennifer Tarrant Wilfong and husband, Stan, and Heather Beck and husband, Keith; six grandchildren, Lauren, Travis, Chloe, Ella, Adeline, Jewel, and two bonus grandsons, Gavin and Forrest; sister, Sally McGee Compton, and numerous nieces and nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Jake and Myrtle McGee, and brother, Donal Jo McGee.

Visitation for family and friends will be 10AM to 11AM Thursday, September 24, 2020 in the chapel of the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home with funeral services following at 11AM. Pastor Matt Zamadio will officiate the service.

Interment will be 10:30AM Friday, September 25, 2020 at the Oaklawn Memorial Park in Athens, Texas. Honorary Pallbearers will be Austin Nyberg, Travis Wilfong, Don Tarrant, Derrick Williams, Mike Tarrant, and Don Martin.

Arrangements are under the direction of Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home, 511 West Main Street, Waxahachie, Texas.
