Obituary for Carroline Vinson Mills (Farris)
Carroline Farris Vinson, beloved mother and friend died Saturday February 27, 2021 in Plano.
She was born February 16, 1941 in Waxahachie, Texas and was raised by her parents Archie and Madeline Hobson. After graduating from Waxahachie High School in 1959 and receiving a master’s degree in Education, her career was spent teaching and advocating for special education students. In 1963 she married John Vinson and together they had two daughters: Amberlee and Brandelyn.
Carroline was an accomplished artist, avid reader, and a skilled pianist. She was creative and vivacious with a beautiful smile and infectious laugh. She was loved by all who knew her and will be missed by many. Her daughters will remember her devotion and guidance while her grandchildren will have memories of sleepovers, card games and endless coffee milk.
She is survived by daughters Amberlee McCarty and Brandelyn Hinterman, son in law Shea McCarty and grandchildren Madeline, Dillan, Jamie, Dakota, and Keller.
A Memorial Service is scheduled for 11A.M. on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home in Waxahachie, Texas.
