Charles Edward Barber, born in Bastrop, Louisiana on December 10, 1944, went on to be with the Lord on November 6, 2022, surrounded by his loving family in Ennis, Texas. Charles, who was better known as “Chuck” was raised in Borger, Tx and as a child regularly visited with his grandparents in Kansas. Helping his grandfather on the farm is how he learned and grew to love farming. He graduated from Borger High School in 1964 and went on to obtain his Associates Degree from Navarro College. Chuck was a Veteran and proudly served his country by joining the Air Force when he was 20 years old serving from 1965-1969. In the same year of his enlistment, on May 6, 1965, he married the love of his life, Doris Mae Gentzel. They welcomed their son Charles Clinton “Clint” Barber on September 30, 1971 and shared the past 57 years happily married. He retired from the United States Postal Office working as a mail carrier who also owned and operated his own Upholstery Shop business. Some of his favorite hobbies included watching football, old western movies, working on classic cars and taking care of the cows on the farm. He loved spending time with his family and was a deeply spiritual man who enjoyed attending church and memorizing scripture. He Pastored many Pentecostal Churches through his years but most recently Pastored Church on the Rock in Rice, Texas. His willingness to always help others was what he was best known for and his loving, kind, and selfless spirit will be incredibly missed.

He is survived by his wife Doris Mae Barber, son Charles Clinton “Clint” Barber and wife Tonya Barber. His grandchildren Makayla Barton and wife Nikki Barton, Jaylen Bomer, Brendon Barber and Olivia “Livi” Barber.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday evening, November 15, 2022, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home in Ennis.

Funeral Services will be on Wednesday at 10 AM, November 16, 2022, also at Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home in Ennis with Rev. James Morris as the officiant.

Interment will immediately follow in procession to Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75211.
