Obituary for Cipriano Gomez III

Cipriano Gomez III was born August 14, 1975 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Carmen and Cipriano Gomez, Jr. He departed on April 8, 2022. Known to many as “Shorty”, he is remembered as a very outgoing person who always volunteered when needed, loving, caring and honorable. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Maypearl, and also a member of Second Chance Baptist Church of Petersburg, Va. A graduate of Maypearl High School, Cipriano immediately went to work after graduation as a Steel Mill Worker at Chaparral Steel.

He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, especially loved to go dancing and listening to music. His favorite place to be was the Back of the Bee in Maypearl. He had an affinity for Tejano and Country music, most notably Bart Crow. Growing up in Maypearl, as children, he and his siblings would play outside with the neighborhood kids; playing kick ball and football. Their street was always known as the “bad” street, and they would often get into some kind of mischief; at the end of the day they would always get into trouble for being so dirty. Shorty would take the blame because he was the oldest and knew better.

Most importantly, Cipriano was a devoted father to his only son Cipriano Gomez IIII. He was always supportive of his son, loved him deeply and talked very highly of him and his accomplishments.

Cipriano is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Eva and Vincent Miranda, his paternal grandparents Refugio and Cipriano Gomez Sr; mother Carmen Gomez; sister Diane M. Gomez; aunt Janie V. Miranda; and uncles Joe Miranda and Oscar Miranda.

He is survived by his son Cipriano Gomez IIII; father Cipriano Gomez Jr.; brother Robert Gomez; sister Angie Gomez; nieces Diana M. Boss and husband Gage, Adriana Brown Thomas and husband Tyler, Haylee Alexis Gomez, Brianna N. Valdez and husband Alex, Christina Gomez; nephews Robert Gomez, Manny Gomez; uncle Ben Vasquez; cousins Princess J. Vasquez, Brianna R. Deleon and family, Daniella C. Vasquez and family, Josh m. Alcaraz, Michael Miranda and family; aunt Dora Alcaraz; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Celebration of life will be held at the home of his father, Mr. Cipriano Gomez Jr, on Saturday April 16, 2022 at 5:00PM at 308 East 3rd Street in Maypearl, Tx 76064.

Arrangements are under the direction of Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home, 511 West Main Street, Waxahachie, Texas.
