Obituary for Cynthia Maldonado

Loving mother and grandmother Cynthia (Cindy) Maldonado passed away on April 13, 2022 due to multiple chronic lifelong health challenges. Cynthia grew up on Williams St. in Waxahachie, Texas born to parents Carmen and Elias Maldonado Sr. she had several brothers and sisters, she was the baby of the family. Grandma said she graduated top of her class and took her studies very seriously. She was also a daddys girl and a twinkle always came to Grandpa's eye when I brought her to visit and when we talked about her. Her parents and family were so incredibly proud of her. The small town then may have known her by her welcoming smile, laughter and infectious personality. Her passions included family, friends, art, drawing, music and singing. She loved Jesus, praying and grew up in the St. Joseph Catholic church. She had a warrior spirit and strong faith. She was courageous and showed a sincere loyalty to family and friends. She was loved by so many. She graduated high school in 1980, then had her daughter Cassie in 1982. She was a single mother with a support team of immediate family that pitched in. Although severe and chronic illness struck she held tight to the special bond between them, it was truly incredible. Cassie now 39 was four when her mother became severely disabled and began to need around the clock care. Her daughter then began the journey of becoming her caretaker as she only wanted her mom to be well.

Dear and loving Cynthia fought battles not many will ever understand. Despite the trials she faced she continued to carry a heart of gold and a love like no other. She welcomed everyone with a warm hug and smile most especially children including her daughter Cassie and grandchildren Chloe and Olivia Riley. She enjoyed spending time with her boyfried Kevin who was the love her life. She had such a giving heart, loved sharing and could make just about anyone laugh. She never even questioned her illnesses as it never got in the way of her sweet love for others, she was still "Cynthia/Cindy" regardless. Cynthia was loved by such beautiful angels at each home she lived at.

We will never forget the amount of love complete strangers poured into my mother as we traveled this unknown road of many difficult illnesses. They will never know how much we needed that and we are sincerely beyond grateful to have had such support. She was a survivor and those around contributed to her survival. Complete angels we met through her homes Freda, Rita and Ray of Rosehaven took her under their wing and lastly a godsend Jennifer of Cedar Hill at her angel home made her last few years and days peaceful.

She was preceded in death by loving parents: Carmen Raya and Elias Maldonado; angel sisters: Victoria Sue Sanchez and Mary Lou Pennington. loving brothers: Tony Maldonado and Wally Munos, Loving grandparents: Cirilo and Antonia Maldonado. Sweet aunts: Lois and Elisa Maldonado. Godfather Compadre Juan Chavez. Loving boyfriend Kevin Wall.

Cynthia is survived by her only child loving daughter Cassie (Maldonado) and son in law Eric; two sweet and beautiful granddaughters Chloe and Olivia. She will be incredibly missed by her family and friends. The love she poured into our hearts while on this earth will remain and live forever. Such a beautiful soul full of life and love.
