Obituary for Debbie Ray

Debbie Ray passed away on December 10, 2020. She was born March 14, 1956 in Amarillo, TX to Marie Louise (Funk) and T.C. Gardner, Jr. Debbie was part of the 1974 graduating class of Amarillo High School. She was very passionate about her love of God and Jesus, and shared it with everyone she met. Debbie loved watching baseball, from little league to Texas Rangers, and the Dallas Cowboys. She enjoyed watching her old movies, visiting antique stores and flea markets, growing flowers, and drinking her Dr. Pepper. She travelled the world in support of her husband Philip’s career - from the Navy to contract work with the Army. Debbie loved many things, but her greatest joy was being a mother. Her kids were her life, but her nine grandchildren became her everything.

Debbie leaves behind her loving husband of 46 years, Philip Ray; three children: Tobi Anthony and husband Brian, Dustin Ray and wife D’Vonne, and Jessi Rose and husband Daron; nine grandchildren: Mason, Darian, Camdyn, Harper, Ryder, Landri, Easton, Nolan, and Liam; three siblings: Toby Gardner, Janet Carter, and Dennis Gardner; three sisters-in-law, a brother-in-law, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, in-laws, Cecil and Ruth Ray, sister-in-law, Sonja Smith, and brother-in-law, Randy Ray.

Her memorial will be held at Family Life Church located at 3900 SW 58th Ave, Amarillo, TX, at 11AM, Thursday, December 17, 2020. The family requests in lieu of flowers to make donations in her name to the charity of your choice.
