Eloisa “Licha” Elizondo, age 72, of Waxahachie, passed away on Friday, March 18, 2022. She was born on November 20, 1949, in Zacatecas, Mexico, to parents Felicitas Gaona and Francisco Mercado. Eloisa was a firecracker who was full of life. She was very loving, caring, and honest. She was a great mother, wife, and had a volunteer’s heart. Her favorite places to be were the beach and her church where she was a faithful member. For hobbies, Eloisa enjoyed making crafts, taking cooking classes, knitting, and crossword puzzles. Her favorite musicians were Pepe Aguilar, Vincente Fernandez, and Jorge Negrete. Her favorite traditions were the Mexican Loteria and Christmas Posadas.

Left to cherish her memories are her loving husband of 43 years, Arturo Elizondo, 3 children, Liliana E. Cuellar, Claudia E. Villanueva, and Julian Elizondo, 6 grandchildren Gabriel Cuellar, Isaiah Villanueva, Jazmin Cuellar, Francisco A. Elizondo, Joaquin N. Elizondo, and Lilia M. Elizondo, 4 brothers and 4 sisters.

Eloisa was preceded in death by her parents, Francisco Mercado and Felicitas Gaona Mercado; brother, Roberto Mercado; sister, Velia Mercado.

A Rosary will be held at 4:30 P.M. on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, with visitation to follow at 5:00 P.M. in the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home Chapel in Waxahachie.
