Eunice Zimmerman of Waxahachie, TX passed from this life into the arms of her Savior on August 18, 2022. Born in Kansas City, MO Eunice Nicoll Zimmerman was the first of three daughters of William and Ona Nicoll.
She graduated from Westport High School in 1944 at the age of 16 and went on to Bob Jones College in 1945. On August 18, 1949 she married Enos L. Zimmerman (“Zimmie”) whom she met in college. They enjoyed 51 years together. Eunice graduated with a Bachelor and Master of Arts degree in Piano Performance. She loved piano and played daily until 2 months before her Homegoing. For many years she taught piano both at Bob Jones University and later at her home in Michigan. But her proudest moments in life were raising her 5 children and making a point to develop a close relationship with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Having accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior when she was a child, Eunice loved Jesus above all things and lived her life in faithful service to Him. Her driving passion was to take every opportunity to share Christ with others. It was her focus to her dying breath. She and Zimmie followed the call of God on their lives as missionaries: first with Greater Europe Mission – ministering in Finland and Sweden where they saw the establishment of the Scandinavian Bible Institute. Later they served under Avant Ministries as regional representatives.
Eunice was a loving wife, a deeply committed and kind mother, an attentive counselor, and a faithful friend. She loved to travel, sew, enjoyed music, and had a delightful sense of humor.
Eunice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Enos, and her sister Marcella Rhodes. She is survived by her 5 children and their spouses:
Pastor Don & Julie Zimmerman, Diane & Justin Dix, Tim & Beckie Zimmerman, Pastor Bruce & Sheila Zimmerman, Susan & Dale Hoffmeyer, and her sister, Lucile Elmore. Eunice was the proud grandmother to 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
