Obituary for Rusty Johnston
Rusty peacefully passed away on February 28, 2022 with loved ones by his side. Rusty was born October 3, 1956 in Waxahachie, Texas to Johnny and Allene Johnston. Always full of life, he never met a stranger.
He graduated from Waxahachie High School. He had several jobs that included Lakeview Developers, “The Reach” in Key West, Florida, Joey’s Storage, G Texas Catering Company and later became a full time caregiver for his mother who developed Alzheimer’s.
Rusty is proceeded in death by his parents Johnny and Allene Johnston; uncles David Johnston and Tommy Johnston; aunt Bonnie Johnston; nephew Robby Davidson; and his best friend of over 60 years George Winn.
Rusty is survived by his sister Sandy Davidson and her husband Robert; nieces Crystal Davidson and Amanda Brady; great nieces London Davidson and Jayden Shaw; great nephews Raven Shaw and Robert “Robby” Davidson Ward; great-great niece Serenity Shaw; a host of cousins, and many friends who were more like family.
His vibrant smile always lit up a room; his life of the party attitude, witty and sometimes vulgar jokes will forever be missed.
In Rusty’s last hoorah, he would say “Just Breathe” because “I’m now on the roof”.
Visitation will be held March 26, 2022 from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM at the Boze Mitchell McKibbin Funeral Home Chapel, in Waxahachie, Texas.
