Gerald Ray Atwood was born March 14, 1947 to Lorean and Carlton Atwood in Shreveport, Louisiana. He departed on December 28, 2022. Gerald was a Master Electrician, but really he was a jack of all trades. A hard worker, he was always willing to lend a helping hand. Gerald married his beloved wife Wanda on October 21, 1971 and the couple had three children – Teresa, Curtis, and Laurie. A devoted husband and father, Gerald fiercely loved his family.

Most often Gerald could be found outside – fishing or working in the yard. He was always tinkering with something. He loved traveling with his wife and looked forward to spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Gerald also had a deep affection for his dogs, Rosie and Sunny. He will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his wife Wanda Atwood; parents Lorean and Carlton Atwood; and daughter Laurie Atwood.

Gerald is survived by his beloved dogs Rosie and Sunny; son Curtis Atwood; daughter Teresa Atwood Strobel and husband David; grandchildren Jason Atwood, Brian Ellebracht and wife Helen, Jeremy Ellebracht, Ashley Watson and Mackenzie Atwood; great grandchildren Beau, Presley, Leah, Braylynn, Cheyenne, Kayleigh, Adalynn and Kyle; and many other friends and family members.
