Obituary for Grunell Gookin (Dillon)
Grunell Gookin, age 86, passed away Monday, the 19th of December at home surrounded by her family.
Grunell was born on the 13th of June 1936 in Nashville, Tennessee to Herschel and Blanche (Moore) Dillon. She was raised in a strong Christian home where the Word of God was the path to follow. After graduation from high school she worked as a secretary in Nashville for several years.
On January 10, 1958 Grunell married Richard B. Gookin at Randolph Air Force Base in SAn Antonio, Texas as he entered the United States Air Force. This union produced one daughter, Kandis Renee Gookin. Kandis and her husband Horace Heine Jr. gave Grunell and Richard two grandchildren. Grunell had 6 great grandchildren who brought incredible happiness to her life. One of Grunells greatest joys was at church with all of her family at her side. She loved them all very much.
Grunell was preceded in death by her father and mother, her daughter Kandis Heine, a brother and two sisters. She is survived by her husband Richard of 64 years, granddaughter Natalin Buegeler (husband Brady), grandson Travis Heine (wife Shelby); 6 great grandchildren: Braden, Hudson and Holden Buegeler, Ellis, Nora and Pacyn Heine.
