Obituary for James Flowers

James was born May 17, 1930 and passed away May 6, 2023 at 92 years old. Some details of his life are lost with time, but he was born in Maryland and passed in North Carolina after having travelled the USA extensively with his beloved wife of 62 years, Marie Flowers, who was originally from Amarillo, Texas and who he reunites with her today in Milford, Texas.

Raised on a farm in Maryland, his love of growing things from the ground continued through his life with gardening.

James joined the United States Air Force as a young man and served our country for more than 22 years, serving in the USA, Germany, England and other parts unknown to us today. He joined as a clerk/typist but transitioned to be a jet engine mechanic, which is ironic because he hated to fly!

After retirement from the Air Force and cabco, he and Marie travelled and lived in a fifth wheel RV, all over our 50 states, visiting friends and family along the way and enjoying all the national landmarks to be seen.
Sometime and somewhere in those travels “Dad” took up woodworking, particularly scrolling. His art can be found all over his travels for he seldom sold a piece, but instead chose to give them away. He particularly enjoyed clocks, having created and given one to almost all of his loved one. May of you here today have one!
James, Jim, Andy, Grandpa and Dad you will be missed forever. Give Mom and kiss from all of us!

He is preceded to heaven by his mother and father, and most siblings; all four children Weldon, Luetta M. Flowers, Ricky L. Flowers and Michael E. Flowers; two grandchildren Kiam Flowers and John Michael Flowers.
He is survived by older brother William Edward Flowers – 95; daughter-in-law Ellen Flowers; grandchildren Kenneth Robert Hirn Jr. and wife Fausta; Jeffery James Hirn; Debra Nolan; James Russell; Marco Flowers; Jacoby Flowers; great grandchildren Kenneth Bridges, Chloe Rojas, Cameron Hirn, Katie Hirn, Aaron Sanor, Tyson Nolan; great great granddaughter Charlotte Rojas; great great grandson Dakota Sanor; and many nieces and nephews all over the country.

Special thanks to Tewe Flowers for all of her held taking care of our Dad and his funeral arrangements in North Carolina.
