Obituary for Jean Ellen Woodard
Jean Ellen Woodard joined Jesus on December 30, 2022. Widely known as BeBe, she was born on September 29, 1945 in Waxahachie, Texas to Laura and Harold Crowell. Jean grew up in Milford and graduated from Milford High School. As an adult, she and her husband owned and operated Preferred Metal Products, and worked hard at the family business while raising her children. Jean married Jerry Woodard and the couple delighted in two children – Lance and Eric, three grandchildren – Anna, Andrew and Grace, and 57 love filled years together.
Jean was the backbone of the family and her love of family began early. As a child she never missed a chance to go on adventures with her brother Kenny. She ensured everyone felt welcomed and was quick to encourage laughter and smiles, displaying her high energy and playful spirit. Her enthusiasm inspired all in her presence. She enjoyed having events to go to with her friends; she never missed a Waxahachie Gingerbread Trail Tour. She also enjoyed being outside and could often be found shopping for bargains and gardening. Jean was especially talented at sewing.
A faithful believer, Jean has been a member of United Methodist Church of DeSoto, First Baptist Church of Hillsboro, and most recently First Baptist Church of Milford. She looked forward to helping with Vacation Bible School ever year. Jean thoroughly enjoyed her community.
She is preceded in death by her parents Harold and Laura Crowell.
Left to cherish Jean’s memory are her beloved husband Jerry Woodard; sons Lance Woodard and daughter-in-law Carol, Eric Woodard and daughter in law Kiah; grandchildren Anna Woodard, Andrew Woodard, and Grace Woodard; and brother Kenneth Crowell and sister-in-law Marilyn.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 3, 2023 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the Boze Mitchell McKibbin Funeral Home Chapel in Waxahachie, Texas. Services will be held Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at 10:00am also at Boze Mitchell McKibbin Funeral Home Chapel.
