In 1969, Jenise started her career as a hairdresser not long after graduating high school. She worked for various salons and beauty schools. When she moved to Texas, she went to work for the Dallas Designs and was currently working at Head Rush in Waxahachie up until her passing.

In 1971, she started her journey in the restaurant business opening Pizza Pizza in Grafton, Wisconsin with her partner and soon to be husband, Phil Balsamo. On July 22, 1972, the two were married and continued to run their family owned business.

In 2017, she and her husband decided to retire from the restaurant business after 42 successful years. She also worked for their family owned business, Southern Frac until 2020.

Jenise loved church and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic. She was born and raised Catholic and believed highly in her faith. She loved her family, and her grandkids were her everything. She enjoyed baking, reading books, cookbooks, shopping, everybody else’s dogs and loved talking to her family. Jenise was a social butterfly who never met a stranger. She was loved and will be forever remembered and deeply missed by so many.

I know it is hard to understand or even comprehend the loss you have all suffered, especially while you find yourselves going through the motions just to get through the day. I pray Our Blessed Mother will hold each of you in her loving arms.
Jenise was a beautiful lady inside and out, the perfect foil to Phil. I thank God for allowing me the privilege of meeting them, learning from their example, and His affirmation that love will always prevail.
Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Our family spent a lotta time at Little Sicily’s eating and visiting and Jenise was there and at the hair salon always doing her thing and talking to people. She was a very sweet lady with a great sense of humor. She raised 4 beautiful daughters and blessed to know them. We will be sending all our thoughts and prayers to yal and special ones for Phil. RIP sweet lady.
