Obituary for Jose Medrano

Jose “Joe” Sanchez Medrano was born August 7, 1944 in Mathis, Texas to Erlindo Medrano and Maria Sanchez Medrano. He departed this life November 6, 2020 at age 76 in Italy, Texas. Joe worked as a self-employed truck driver hauling produce and was known as a jack of all trades. In his spare time Joe enjoyed cooking barbeque for family gatherings and he dearly loved his grandkids.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 59 years, Francisca (Herrera) Medrano; sons Joe (Wanda) Medrano, Jerry (Jane) Medrano, Israel (Elisa) Medrano; daughters Diana (Bruce) Hungerford, Gloria (Cruz) Enriquez, Esther (Steve) Caballero, Angie Medrano (Chris Enriquez), Esmeralda Medrano; grandchildren Joe Jr., Andrew, Abran, Eric, Jason, Cody, Jerri Anne, Matthew, Luz, Braydon, Sophia, Alejandro, Elizabeth, Cruz Jr., Jennifer, Stephanie, Steve Jr., Isaac, and Aaron; brother Ruben Medrano; sisters Juana Estrada, Erlinda Soliz, Amelia Marin and fifteen great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Jose was preceded in death by sisters Anita Resio, Odelia Sandoval, Dominga Almeida, and Maria DeLeon, and brother Alfredo Medrano.

Visitation for family and friends will be Monday, November 9, 2020 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM with a Rosary at 6:30PM at Boze Mitchell McKibbin Funeral Home.

Funeral Mass will take place Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at 10:00AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Waxahachie, Texas with burial to follow at Italy Cemetery, Italy, Texas.
