Joseph Edward Cole, Jr. –Joey, Joe, Dad, Papa– passed peacefully into eternal life on the Feast of the Transfiguration, Saturday, August 6, 2022.
Born in Trenton, Michigan on June 16, 1948, Joe was the 1st child of Joseph E. Cole, Sr. and Marilyn Jean Lewis.
When Joe was 10 years old, a bad snow storm inspired his father to move the family to Texas, and he lived in Texas for the rest of his life. He was the first of his family to graduate from college. He held a Bachelor Degree in Mathematics and Computer Science.
After a few jobs with insurance and oil & gas companies, Joe worked as the Computer Systems Programmer and Analyst for H-E-B Grocery Company in San Antonio. He proudly held this position for 25 years until his retirement in 2005.
Always a loving husband, Joe was a most generous and conscientious provider and protector. His loving devotion to his family was always his first priority. Joe enjoyed camping, the beach, making jokes, chocolate, cookies, dogs, and most of all, his family.
He is survived by Virginia M Cole -Ginger, his wife of 44 years, along with his six children, Kenneth (Cortney) Cole, Joseph (Elizabeth) Cole, David (Jennifer) Cole, Suzanne (David) Hoelscher, Krista (Matthew) Allmond, Catherine (Michael) Muldowney, as well as 24 (soon 26) grandchildren, his three siblings, Randy (Janet) Cole, Jolynn (Jimmy) Baughman, and Marilyn (Stanley) Lyles, many nieces and nephews, his Uncle Johnny (Pat) Cole and numerous cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents and several aunts and uncles.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday August 18, 2022 from 6-8 P.M. with a Rosary at 6 P.M. at the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home Chapel located at 511 W Main St, Waxahachie, TX 75165.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 19, 2022 at 10:30 A.M. at the St. Jude Catholic Church located at 500 E Dallas St, Mansfield, TX 76063. Interment will follow at the St. Joseph Cemetery in Ennis,TX.
