Obituary for Juanita O'Daniel

Juanita "Nita" Lee Ortiz- O' Daniel, age 72, of Waxahachie Texas passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, January 14, 2022. She was born in Dallas Texas on June 25, 1949 to Jesse Lee and Pate Starrett and Nita adored her daddy. She worked hard for many years as a medical transcriptionist and was proud of her career and had a love for medicine. She moved to Waxahachie in 1984, where she met her loving husband of 38 years, James M. "Jim" O' Daniel, they truly loved one another despite their bullheadedness. She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren to no ends and loved them tremendously and without hesitation, spoiling them as much as she could. She enjoyed going to church, playing bingo, and sneaking off to the casino in her past time. Nita truly lived life to the fullest in sharing stories and laughter with her family and friends and even strangers. Nita had a knack for making people laugh. Nita was also a fighter, a pistol if you will, and never had a problem telling you just what was on her mind. Nita never let anyone live to see a hungry day or a cold night, and would give the shirt off of her back to anyone in need.
"Booboo" had many kids that she loved as her own. Her soul will continue living amongst all the many memories she left behind with her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents Jesse and Pate Starrett, her brothers John, Mike and Raymond Ortiz, her stepson Wesley O' Daniel, and lifelong running buddies Gloria Rodriguez, Sylvia Meiners, and Mandy & Brenda Chapman all of Waxahachie Texas, as well as the rest of the Golden Girls.

She is survived by her husband James M. O' Daniel of Waxahachie, Daughter Holly Riney of Ennis, Son and Daughter in law Jose and Stephanie Maldonado of Palmer, and stepson Alton O' Daniel of Italy, Texas. Grandchildren Katy and Dakota Lara of Hillsboro tx, Brett Baggerly and Wife Ryliegh of Maypearl, Sierra Maldonado of Palmer Tx. Great grand babies Ruger and Saylor Lara, Bennett Baggerly, Aubri, Isabella and baby Maldonado. Sister Mary Starrett of Euguene OR, Brother Robert Starrett and wife Claire of Red Oak Texas as well as the many relatives, family and friends that she has touched throughout the years.
