Obituary for Judy Ann Toner (Maddox)

Judy Ann Toner was born October 10, 1951 in Alexandria, Virginia to Vivian and Edward Maddox. She went home to be with the Lord on May 15, 2022. Judy helped everyone. She was loving, strong willed and fiercely loyal to her family. She officially married the love of her life, Ed Toner, on August 14, 1971; they had previously eloped, in secret, on April 7, 1971. The couple were married 51 years and enjoyed their family of three children, six grandchildren, and one great grandson.

Judy grew up in a military (Navy) family and lived many places to include the Philippines and Panama. She married into the military (Navy) and served as a military wife for 24 years. She worked as a home maker, at the library, in retail and at a daycare. She was talented in all crafts, but mainly crocheted, making beautiful blankets. She won first please in the Onslow County Fair, in North Carolina, for her Flower Basket Tissue Box. Judy loved to read and instilled a love of reading in all her children, grandchildren, and great grandson. She enjoyed being home with her family, especially spending time in the sunroom Ed had built for her. She really loved Christmas, went above and beyond for everyone. It thrilled her to see everyone’s reaction to the day. Most of all, the relished her role as Memaw to her grandchildren Michael, Jessica, Conner, Hannah, Claire Brayden and great grandson Mason.

She is preceded in death by her father Donnie Gable; mother Vivian Gable; grandmother Blanche Thompson; Grandfather George Thompson; brothers Gary Maddox, Alan Maddox, and Dale Maddox; nephew Dwayne Kirkpatrick; sister-in-law Kate Toner and Betty Toy; brother-in-law Peter Toner Jr.; and in-laws Elizabeth and Peter Toner, Sr.

Judy is survived by her husband of 51 years Edward Toner; son David Toner and wife Bonnie; daughter Debbie Toner and husband Clifford Lynch; son Daniel Toner and wife Christine; grandson Michael Toner; granddaughter Jessica Toner; Grandson Connor Lynch; granddaughter Hannah Lynch; granddaughter Claire Toner; grandson Brayden Toner; great grandson Mason Toner; sister Joyce VanStory; brother Ron Maddox; brother Steve Clouse as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their children and their grandchildren.

Visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday May 28, 2022 from 2:00PM until 4:00PM at Boze Mitchell McKibbin Funeral Home Chapel in Waxahachie.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday May 31, 2022 at 11:00AM, also at Boze Mitchell McKibbin Chapel in Waxahachie.
