Obituary for Julius "JuJu" Camarillo

Julius “JuJu” Camarillo was born on June 6, 1961 to Mary and Juan Joe Camarillo Sr. He went home to be with his Lord and Savior on November 12, 2022. JuJu grew up in Ennis, Texas with his four siblings. Family was always important to him; he was lovingly devoted to his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

JuJu was mechanically inclined. He made his living working for ECTISP and further used his skills as a maintenance man at local motels. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially fishing. Keeping the fish that he caught was never important to JuJu, he loved to share them with others – family, friends, and even his fellow fisherman who might not have had any luck that day. He had a huge heart, and loved everyone he came in contact with. He would often say that fishing was his church, and that was the time he spent with God.

He was also known for his sense of humor. JuJu loved to make people laugh. Those that knew him well will remember his favorite quotes, “Hey baby, I got 5.99”, “Chocolate, Chocolate”, and (in Spanish) “ That’s what she said”. He liked listening to Hispanic music; his favorite songs were “I put my picture away” and “Borracho De Besos”. His favorite place to be was the casino and Lake Bardwell. Julius is remembered for his willingness to help others, his ability to laugh and have a good time, and his huge loving heart.

He was preceded in death by his parents Mary and Juan Joe Camarillo Sr; children Christy Camarillo, Maurice Camarillo, and Julius Lee Camarillo Jr; and siblings Domingo Camarillo and Guadalupe Camarillo.

Julius is survived by his children Angie Walker and husband Bobby, Susie Conner and husband Jeremy, Mary Brown and husband Keana, Sarah Brewer and husband James, and Julius Camarillo; son-in-law Willie Crockett; siblings Mary Camarillo, Juan Camarillo Jr and wife Kathy; ex-wife Elizabeth Jenkins; 25 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; numerous fishing buddies; and his special friend Sherri Larson.

Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, November 18, 2022 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Boze Mitchell McKibbin Funeral Home in Waxahachie, Texas.

A memorial service will be held December 3, 2022 at 11:00am at the River of Life Pentecostal Church located at 1499 MLK Blvd, Waxahachie Texas with Pastor Timothy Sharp presiding.
