Katelyn was born to Earl Wayne Maxey and Tamara Denise Maxey April 28th, 1995. Although she was the baby of the family, her elder sister, Brittany Maxey, remembers her as the protector of the family from a very early age.

Katelyn was known for her baby blue eyes, long lashes and curly hair. She loved riding in her daddy’s 18- wheeler, getting dirty and even raised a pig named Bacon as her Ag project in school. Katelyn was the epitome of a bonafide Daddy’s girl in every sense. She was also known to be quite a firecracker. Whenever she believed a family member or friend had been wronged; she didn’t hesitate to jump right in the middle and set things and people straight.

Katelyn had a servant’s heart and was willing to give anyone a hand whenever they were in need. She always strived to make her family and friend’s lives better. Her love for others was strong, fierce and unfailing. Katelyn also loved Jesus. She was known to often breakout in prayer and worship and when she did; everyone near her would be drawn into joining her.

Of all, the things she will be remembered for, most importantly, is that Katelyn loved as Jesus loves. She is preceded in death by her beloved father, Earl Wayne Maxey; in 2016 whom now she has been united with forevermore. She is survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
