Obituary for Kayellen Ramsey (Ramsey)

Kayellen Ramsey was born June 19, 1954 to Audrey and Jacques Ramsey in Dallas, Texas. She joined her Lord and Savior on August 1, 2022. A daddy’s girl, and spoiled, Kayellen grew up in Pleasant Grove in Dallas. She graduated from W. W. Samuel High School in Dallas. She was an Optician and later worked for the City of Dallas. Remembered as strong willed and stubborn, some called her Battle Axe. She was a fiercely patriotic woman, with a larger-than-life personality.

Kayellen is the mother to one son, Christopher Edwards. Her favorite place to be was with him. He remembers, “I was having a bad day, throwing a fit and having an argument with my fiancée. I yelled that I wanted to be alone. She sat up in her chair, looked at me intently and told me that I did not. She was right!”. On her 50th Birthday, she spent the evening with him at his best friend’s bar, where he was working the door that night. The cover charge was telling her Happy Birthday. People who weren’t regulars thought she was famous! Before the night was over, the whole lower Greenville and Goodwin block sang Kayellen Happy Birthday! That night she felt like a star. The two always watched out for and took care of each other. Kayellen was saved by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, two months before her death. She was witnessed to by Christopher, at Baylor Hospital Waxahachie.

Kayellen had a great sense of humor, as apparent in her favorite movies Caddyshack, Blazing Saddles and The Parent Trap – the Lindsey Lohan one. She was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, loved Super Bowl Sunday, and always watched any major golf tournament. The family always looked forward to Thanksgiving; the woman could cook like there was no tomorrow! In her later years she treasured her time in Maypearl with her son, daughter in law, and her step grandson, Logan Blaine Frideley.

She is preceded in death by her parents Audrey and Jacques Ramsey.

Left to cherish her memory are her beloved son Christopher Edwards; step grandson Logan Blaine Frideley; brothers Stephen Ramsey, Mike Ramsey; and sister Jackie Ramsey.
