Obituary for Lance Odom

Lance Odom, 46, of Waxahachie, passed away April 22, 2021.

Lance was born July 10, 1974 in Dallas, Texas to Randy and Vikki Odom of Waxahachie.

He attended Waxahachie High School in Waxahachie, Texas. He was also a graduate of Texas A&M University at Corpus Christi where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. He went on to be an adoption/foster care specialist at the Texas Baptist Home for Children, then a pastor with Sardis Baptist Church.

Lance was known to many as the one who could make you laugh with his comedian-like personality. He could always brighten your day with a joke or funny impression.

He enjoyed fishing on the Texas coast, playing golf, writing sermons, and playing various games.

He is survived by his father and mother, Randy and Vikki Odom of Waxahachie; sister, Lynsey Green of Waxahachie, Brother-in -law, Jacob Green, of Waxahachie, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Mr. L.D. Odom and Mrs. Frances Odom; his maternal grandparents, Mr. Roland Rogers and Mrs. Dorothy Rogers; and his beloved dog, Jornee.

Visitation will be held Monday, April 26, 2021 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at Boze Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home in Waxahachie, Texas. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Waxahachie City Cemetery.
