Obituary for Librada "Libby" Pritchett (Mata)

Librada Pritchett also known as “Libby” born to Rogelio and Margarita Mata on April 16th, 1970, in Houston, Texas went Home to be with our Lord on June 3rd, 2022, in Wills point, Texas. Libby was one of seven children and spent her early years in Houston, ultimately graduating from Waxahachie High School in 1989 where she later worked at Walgreens after graduation. She was member of Calvary Baptist Church in Emory, Texas and passionately believed in giving and regularly donated to St. Jude Cancer Center. She married her husband Mike Pritchett on October 7th, 2017.

Quality time with her family was one of her top priorities and she often would travel to South Texas to visit her sisters and vacation with her daughter and husband in Port Aransas. Her family will miss her loving smile and caring personality. She would often host her nieces and nephews for sleep overs and dinner. Some of their fondest memories of her where when she would take everyone out shopping in Big Bertha. And if she wasn’t spending time with her family she would likely be baking or making floral arrangements and listening to some of her favorite music, ranging from Ramon Ayala to Garth Brooks and Tejano. She was very fond of her cats and referred to them as her “babies”.

Libby is preceded in death by her mother Margarita Ledesma Mata and brother Guadalupe “Pete” Mata.

She is survived by her daughter Brenda Nicole Gonzales, husband Mike Pritchett, Father Rogelio Mata, brothers; Rogelio Mata Jr. and Augusto Mata, sisters; Margarita Serrato, Juanita Garcia and Patricia Mendoza, 6 nieces, 12 nephews, 3 great nieces as well as 7 great nephews.

Visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday, June 8th, 2022, from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at Boze Mitchell McKibbin Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be June 9th, 2022, at 2pm also at Boze Mitchell McKibbin Chapel in Waxahachie. Interment will immediately follow at Waxahachie City Cemetery.
