Obituary for Marilyn Lee

Marilyn Coleen Lee, age 79, left this world on June 11, 2020 in Waxahachie, Texas. She was born on August 11, 1940 to her parents, Russell Raty and Elaine Nelson Raty.

Marilyn was the second oldest of 14 children. Her brothers and sisters loved and looked up to her. She was such a help to her mother with each new baby brought home. She would laugh and tell her own children they were lucky to be alive because after caring for her siblings she didn’t want to have babies of her own.

We were blessed to call her our mom. She challenged and insisted we memorized bible verses and to clean, clean, clean. She was very convinced that cleanliness was next to Godliness. She loved to go dancing and playing cards; canasta and rummy. She worked various jobs during her life. In the office of “Our Daily Bread”, banking, managing apartment complexes, selling Avon, daycares, and elementary schools. Marilyn was a hard worker, giving her all with a smile on her face and a skip in her step. Shopping was her favorite hobby with returning those same items a close second.

Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Cindy (Tony) Tedmon; son, Bradley (Chris) Keiper; grandchildren, Stephanie (Edward) Park, Carrie (Christopher) Parker, Brandon Keiper, Brittney Keiper; great-grandchildren, Jayan, Kellen, Carsyn, Rylen, and Colsen.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Russell Raty, Gary Raty and Ronald Raty.

When she moved to her new home in Heaven, she joined her son, Robert Franklin Keiper, whom Jesus called home at a young age of 12 years old.
