Obituary for Mary Helen Castillo (Casias)

Mary Helen Castillo, 75, peacefully passed away at her home on February 17, 2022. Her final days were spent surrounded by her loving husband and children supporting her courageous battle with cancer.

Mary was born in Poteet, Texas on June 8, 1946. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her family was her everything. Her journey of life started when she married the love of her life Leroy Castillo on June 18, 1967. Shortly thereafter, she became a military wife and mother of three to Chris, James and Malisa. She lived her last 33 years in Waxahachie, Texas with her family, while working many of those years at Lifoam Industries as a silk-screening specialist before she later retired. Mary loved to visit the casino often and play bingo weekly. She enjoyed traveling, cruising, and visiting with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her father Eloyd Casias, mother Epifania Casias, brothers Joe Casias and Ramon Castillo, sisters Juanita Wade and Guadalupe De La Paz.

She is survived by her husband Leroy Castillo, children Christopher Castillo, James Castillo and wife Angie Castillo, Malisa Castillo Byrd and husband Kenneth Byrd, grandchildren Cassandra Tejera and husband Daniel Tejera, Gregory Castillo, Haley Castillo, Makayla Castillo, Anthony Castillo, Andrew Castillo and wife Jennifer Castillo, Brittni Lawrence and husband Steven Lawrence, Jordan Martinez and 10 great grandchildren, brother Eloyd Casias Jr. and wife Pauline Casias, sister Rosalinda Arroyo and many nieces and nephews
