Mary Sue Grimes, age 82, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, September 25, 2020 in Mansfield. She was born on August 26, 1938 in Ennis, Texas. Sue was raised in Ennis and was one of eight children. Sue married her late husband Bobby Grimes on April 15, 1958.

Her family was everything to her, she loved everyone so much. Sue was loved by everyone she met. She always made sure to tell her daughters goodnight and that she loved them.

Sue was a seamstress for many years and her favorite color was red. She enjoyed reading her bible and singing church hymns. Sue loved playing skip bo and listening to her Christian music. She cared deeply for her family and her church family.

You always knew not to call Sue between 6:30 to 7:00 because her favorite tv show was on Wheel of Fortune. For over 40 years she was a faithful and dedicated member of the Bible Baptist Church. She accepted Christ as her personal savior in her early years.

Left to cherish her memories are her two daughters, Sylvia Carroll of Lancaster and Shirley Aday and husband Billy of Waxahachie; two granddaughters, Connie Starek and husband Cody, April Sutton and husband Randall; two grandsons, Phillip Carroll and wife Felicia, Chris Aday and wife Kelly; nine great grandchildren, Briana Starek, Mikayla Carroll, Korbyn Carroll, Luke Whitaker, Khloe Sutton, Shemah Aday, Selah Aday, Zakaryah Aday, Ephrayim Aday; two sisters, Dot Sills, Glynda Stone and numerous nieces and nephews.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents L.D. Farmer and Lena Mae; husband, Bobby Grimes; son in law, Brad Carroll; four brothers and one sister.

Pallbearers are Phillip Carroll, Chris Aday, Luke Whitaker, Randall Sutton, Cody Starek, Clay Farmer and honorary pallbearer Korbyn Carroll.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 from 6-8 P.M. at the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home in Waxahachie.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Chapel in Waxahachie with Pastor Todd Grimes and Brother Robert Shields officiating. Interment will follow at the Waxahachie City Cemetery.

I'm honored to have got to know Aunt Sue, I just wish that she could have met my children, she was so accepting of people and I know that for a fact because she accepted me into the family. My favorite memory with her is when I gave her brother, Randall and her sister Glynda a birthday party along with my Husband and his daughter Renea, and she informed me that she had birthday coming and hope that I would do the same for her. I didn't get to do that but she will have a lot of family and friends in heaven to keep her company and they will celebrate her coming. Love to the family. Helen Stone

I loved every moment with my grandma. My favorite memory is having her over at my house for Christmas Eve every year. We both looked forward to it. She couldn’t wait to get up Christmas morning to go through her stocking. I love you and I’m going to miss you so much! I love you to Heaven and back...
