Mary Jalayn Helm, age 84 of Ovilla, Texas went to be with her Lord on February 24, 2020. She was born on February 8, 1936 in Garden City, Kansas to Roscoe B. and Beaulah P. (Ritter) Solze. Jalayn married Dale L. Helm on May 31, 1969 in Garden City. She was a tough lady who enjoyed riding alongside Dale, both on a motorcycle and bicycle all over the southern part of the United States. They would ride awhile then camp and go again the next day. Jalayn had a love for traveling. She made it to 44 of the contiguous states, as well as Hawaii and England. She also enjoyed snow skiing. Jalayn was a member of the Ovilla Service League, Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she led the choir and Sassy Seniors Dance Group performing all over the country. Although her journey here on earth has come to an end, it is comforting for her family knowing that she has traveled to Heaven for her final destination, leaving her family with a lifetime full of priceless memories that will be forever remembered.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory a loving husband of 50 years, Dale L. Helm; son, Lee Hatcher and life partner Pam; step children, David Helm and wife Cheryle, Pepper Ann Navarette, Kelly Dale Helm, Marty Helm and Mitchell Helm and wife Cathy; sister, Janet Venable and Jalayn’s cherished grandchildren Kandis Agee, Karlee Whyne, Kristofer Hatcher, Stephanie Hatcher, Pepper Marie Zamaria, Marissa Jalayn Hall, Brian Helm, Jessie Kate Helm, Steve Helm and other family and friends along with numerous great-grandchildren.

Jalayn was preceded in death by her parents and two sons, Kirk and Kevin Hatcher.

Services are scheduled for, Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 3:00pm, at Shiloh Cumberland Church
