Mary Frances Northern Shrader was born January 20, 1932 to Mary and Otto Northern in Frost, Texas. She joined her Lord and Savior on October 22, 2022. Mary devoted her life to raising her children and helping on the family farm. Later she worked as a clerk at the Avalon General Store where she made many friends.
She married T.E. Shrader November 28, 1955 and the couple enjoyed 34 years together before his passing. Known to her family as MawMaw, Mary adored all of her 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. She was talented at handicrafts such as knitting, crocheting, and painting. Much of her time was spent nurturing her plants, country dancing and trying her luck – scratching Lottery Tickets. She looked forward to attending her grandson Drew’s drag races and spending time with her family and friends. In her younger years she was an avid fisherman and deer hunter. Mary loved anything outside and her beloved Dallas Cowboys.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband T.E. Shrader; son Robert Neil; grandson Cody Leidecker; granddaughter Amy Jo Johnston Ray; and six brothers and 1 sister.
She is survived by her sons Danny Neil (Johnia) and Ted Shrader(Judy); daughters Charlotte Wilson (Jerry), Annita Johnston (Randy), Renee Mitchell (Gary) and Elayne Leidecker and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Graveside services for Mary will be held Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at 11:00AM at Hughes Cemetery in Avalon, Texas.
In lieu of flowers the family appreciates donations to be made to First Baptist Church of Avalon in Mary’s memory.
