Obituary for Norma Kay Hodge

Norma “Kay” Stewart Hodge, 80, of Cedar Hill, Texas died peacefully the morning of March 4, 2021. She was born February 3, 1941 in Sardis, TX to Oran Eldridge and Uneeda (McCaleb) Stewart. She grew up in Waxahachie, graduating from Waxahachie
High School in 1958. Kay retired from Northrop Grumman, Aerospace and Defense Company in 2003 after 40 years of service. She was a faithful member of Park Meadows Baptist Church in Waxahachie. She loved reading her Bible and one of her favorite stories was that of Martha and Mary with Jesus.

Kay started each day off by doing her morning crossword puzzle. She loved animals, in particular the Basenji dogs that they had raised. She had several “show dogs” over the years, Suzie Q. being her favorite one in the ring.

She is survived by her husband and best friend of 54 years, Robert R. “Bob” Hodge; son, Randy Hodge and wife Jennifer of Paradise Valley, AZ; niece Marcia Jackson and husband Monty of Bolingbrook, Illinois; nephew, John David White and wife Paula of Rhome, Texas; great nieces, Haley Trevino (Ramon) and Lauren Flem (Brandon) and great nephew, John White, Jr. along with numerous other family members and cousins that she loved dearly. Kay was preceded in death by her parents, O. E. Stewart and Uneeda “Peet” Yarbrough and her only sister, Andra “Gail” White.

The writer of Ecclesiastes said, “to everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.”
“A time to be born, and a time to die.” Ecclesiastes 3:1-2.

Visitation for family and friends will be 12PM to 1:30PM Sunday, March 7, 2021 at Boze Mitchell McKibbin Funeral Home.

Graveside service and interment will follow at 2PM at the Sardis Cemetery with Pastor Joe Langley officiating.
