Obituary for Patsy Ruth Goad (Johnson)

Patsy Ruth Johnson Goad was born on December 7, 1938 to Clara and John Johnson in Dallas, Texas. She died February 23, 2022. Patsy is remembered as a sharp, gentle, caring woman that was there for anyone who needed her. She was very witty and could fill a room with laughter at any moment. Known as Nan, Sweet Nan, she was born and raised in Oak Cliff. She graduated from South Oak Cliff High School and was a Sears Sales Associate for over 25 years. She was married to her husband, Gerard Patrick Goad, for thirty-five years before he passed in 1998. The couple had two children, Steven and Craig, and three grandchildren, Brittany, Ryan, and Brooke.

Patsy loved spending time with her family playing dominos, drinking coffee, and eating pie. She kept her mind sharp by cooking, reading books and doing word searches. Her favorite place to be was with her family. She loved her sons and grandkids with every ounce of her being.

Nan was always up for a new adventure. She loved exploring, trying new food, going new places and seeing new sights. She loved that she got the opportunity to cross her top bucket list item off by going on an Alaskan Cruise. She had a blast seeing the vast Alaskan Mountains, land and wildlife. At 80 years old, Patsy hiked to the top of Mt. Juno!

She is preceded in death by her husband, Gerard Patrick Goad; son, Craig Goad; brother, Sonny Johnson; sisters, Lucy Broyles and Helen Davis and her parents John and Clara Johnson.

She is survived by her son, Steven Goad and wife Tammy Goad; grandchildren, Brittany Goad, Ryan Goad and Brooke Goad; nieces, Jana Carlson and Sharon Fliesch.
