Obituary for P.C. Cox

Preston Clifford “P.C.” Cox was born in Maypearl, TX July 7, 1938. Often called “Luke,” PC was a cowboy through and through. He grew up in the countryside near Maypearl, TX and worked on ranches in his youth.

P.C. served in the United States Army from 1957 to 1963 where his specialty was as a Guided Missile Installation Electrician. P.C. was decorated with the Good Conduct Medal and Marksman Badge for Rifle Shooting. Other than a short time in Germany during his military service, P.C. spent most of his life in Waxahachie, TX.

His heart loved both the Texas countryside and the mountains of Colorado. P.C. spent much of his career working as an electrician at Owens Corning. He enjoyed caring for his dogs and neighborhood cats, gardening, hunting, traveling to Colorado, cooking, grilling, swimming, and country dancing. P.C. appreciated visitors and making meals for his loved ones.

P.C. built a life with his family in Texas, including his 2 daughters, Kim and Brenda from a previous marriage, as well as his son, David, and daughter, Emily, with his wife, who preceded him in death, Pamela Jewel Willingham Cox. P.C. was a stubborn man but also had a heart of gold. He was generous, opinionated, and kindhearted to all.
He passed away peacefully on April 14, 2022 in Kerens, TX.

Funeral Services will be Monday April 18, 2022 at 3:00pm. The services will be located at Boze Mitchell McKibbin Funeral Home next to Sims Library in Waxahachie, TX with burial afterwards at the Forreston, TX Cemetery next to his family.
