Ralph Buford Ledbetter Jr. passed away on Monday, May 3, 2021 at his home in Red Oak. He was born on May 13, 1942 in Mountain View Missouri to parents Dortha Lea House and Ralph Buford Ledbetter Sr. In life, Ralph enjoyed being outdoors playing golf and fishing. He was a bookworm and loved to travel. He was a Vietnam Veteran and was on the USS Harold E. Holt and the Daniel R. Ray. He retired after 28 years of service to his country. During his time in the Navy, he was in Vietnam, Philippines, Japan, and San Diego. After the Navy, he worked for the Post Office which he retired from as well. He then drove a school bus for Waxahachie ISD where he met his wife Jovita. After WISD he took up driving for Greyhound Bus Lines.
Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Jovita Ledbetter, son Jimmy E. Gonzalez, daughters Denise A. Ledbetter, Tina L. Ledbetter, Jessica Gonzalez, brothers Ted and James Ledbetter, sisters Joyce Cawthra and Elizabeth Wiseman, grandsons Justin Crowley, Jimmy Jr., granddaughters Lisandra, Diamond, and Dakota, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Dortha and Ralph Sr., son Raymond Dean Ledbetter, brothers Gale, William, Clyde and Johnny, and sisters Connie Cole and infant Ida Ledbetter.
Visitation for family and friends will be 5pm to 8pm, Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home with prayer service at 7pm.
