Richard Crawford Watson, age 82, passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 in Allen, TX, while under hospice care at home. Richard was born on September 7, 1937 in Forreston, TX. Richard attended school and graduated from grade school and high school in Forreston. Richard went on to graduate from University of North Texas with a bachelor’s degree in business. Richard loved sports, especially baseball, basketball, and football and played baseball and basketball while he attended school at Forreston. He was a referee for basketball, baseball, and softball for many years. In later years, Richard learned to enjoy and appreciate soccer while watching his granddaughters participate in soccer games and he also enjoyed any sport or activity that his granddaughters were involved in. Richard loved following the local high school football teams and was an avid supporter of the Allen Eagle football team where he was a season ticket holder for several years. He worked in the insurance industry for most of his life and retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas after a 27 year career. Richard then started a second career as a real estate agent and always enjoyed working with people and helping them find a new home. He was a long time member of First United Methodist church in Plano, TX where he enjoyed volunteering as an usher at the contemporary worship service. Richard was a kind, caring, and loving husband, father, and Papa who will be deeply missed by his family, but leaves behind some wonderful memories that they will cherish forever.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Teresa Hansen Watson; daughter, Rhonda Watson Clifton and husband John; son Rodney Watson and wife Sharon; 2 grandchildren, Hannah Clifton and Caroline Clifton.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Richard A. Watson and Nell LaReine Watson.

A memorial service will be held for Richard August 28, 2021 at 1 PM at the First United Methodist Church of Plano located at 3160 E. Spring Creek Pkwy Plano Tx 75074
