Obituary for Ronald Lee Dow

Ronald Lee Dow was born on February 18, 1943 in San Bernardino, California to Violet and Walter Dow. He passed away on April 9, 2020 at his home in Rockett, Texas at the age of 77.

Ron moved from California to Oklahoma and graduated from Madill High School in 1961. During his life he also lived in Texas and Arkansas. Ron was retired at the time of his passing but earlier in his life he served in the National Guard, worked for a time at a dairy, drove a truck for Central Freight Lines and then had his own business doing landscaping and operating heavy equipment. Ron was an exceptional gardener and definitely had a green thumb.

Ron loved good friends and good food and was usually happiest out on the water catching fish. He was also an avid NASCAR fan, loved his dogs, enjoyed watching old westerns and playing cards. He loved to joke around and to spend time with his many friends and family.

Ron is preceded in death by parents: Violet Ary Shields and Walter Thomas Dow; three siblings: Shirley Beddow, Robert Allen, Patricia Mosier and one daughter: Pamela Dow. Ron leaves behind three siblings: Donald Allen, Dorothy Kethler and half-sister Constance Callahan. He also leaves behind one daughter: Tammie Freeman, one granddaughter: Meagan Carrizales, four grandsons: Jerod Dow, Kevin Collins, Jr., Flint Freeman, Joshua Collins and one great granddaughter: Isabella Dow. Ron also had many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Memorial arrangements are being handled by Boze Mitchell McKibbin Funeral Home in Waxahachie, Texas and will be announced at a later date.
