Obituary for Scott Stewart, Jr.

Scott Ashley Stewart, Jr, age 36, passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at the Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Waxahachie. He was born on February 21, 1985 in Galveston, Texas to parents Ruth Ann O’Quinn and Scott Ashley Stewart Sr,.

Scott graduated from Sweeny High School in 2003 and shortly thereafter enlisted in the Army where he served from 2003 to 2006. Afterwards he attended Cameron University to get his Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology. Following graduation he commissioned as 2LT in the Oklahoma National Guard and served in Afghanistan from March 2011 to May 2012. He married Sara in February 2011 and after getting home started a family. From there he started to work for the Social Security Administration as a Benefit Disability Adjudicator.

He was a member of the Cowboy Church since 2014 and served as a youth leader. He loved working with the middle school and high school kids. During this period, he earned a Master’s Degree from Liberty University. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, working on things around the house, and working on his cars. He was goofy but had the biggest heart. He was a very good dad, a great provider, and always made sure he took care of his family.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Sara Stewart, children Elliette, Hunter, and Fischer, parents Scott and Ruth Anne Stewart, brothers Sean Stewart and wife Savannah, Tim Stewart, sister Rachel Becker and husband Michael, nieces and nephews Ava, Weston, Bronson, Landon, Benjamin, Oliver, Chase, Cason, and numerous extended family and friends.

A Funeral Service is scheduled for Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at 5:00 P.M. at the Cowboy Church of Ellis County in Waxahachie with Matt Sosebee and Chris Maddox officiating.

Interment will be the following day on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at 9:15 A.M. at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery with army honors.
