Obituary

Sharon Sue Hatley, age 69, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2021 at home in Midlothian, Texas surrounded by family.

Born October 20, 1951 in Texarkana, Texas to the parents of Herbert and Frances Talkington. At age 17, she married her high school sweetheart Dennis, age 19, to which he provided her with a life, full of love, family, music, and adventure for 51 years.

Sharon was introduced to Jehovah God by Dennis when they wed. She immediately knew the importance of declaring his name to others and proudly dedicated her life to him on December 11, 1971 in Altus, Oklahoma.

She loved life. If she wanted something done, she got a book and taught herself, from home births, home and auto repairs, fishing, and beekeeping, to name a few. However, her favorite thing in life was doing Jehovah’s will and she remained faithful to him down to her last breath. Her family longs for the day when the words at John 5:25 come true and they can see her again.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Dennis Hatley; Children: Kristina Henson and husband Bobby, Toby Hatley and wife Angel, Myra Hatley, Emily Patterson and husband Joel; Mother: Frances Talkington; Brother: John Talkington and wife Teresa. Grandchildren: Sydnie Allen and husband Matt, Madelynn Eisenman and husband Larry, Hunter O’dell, Kyler Hatley, Taiylor Hatley, McKynzie Peed, Matthew Peed, Michael Peed, Alexandria Huber and husband Brandon, David Salazar, Devin Salazar, Olivia Hatley, Isabella Hatley. Great Grandchildren: Mychal Perez, Vivian Allen, Maizey Eisenman, Ember Ann Hatley, Eastyn Peed, Haiyden Hatley, Violet Salazar, Jazmine Salazar.

Sharon was preceded in death by her father Herbert Talkington, and brother David Talkington.

A special thank you to the staff at Bristol Hospice for their loving care and to the East Waxahachie Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses for providing food and support to the family.

There will be a virtual memorial service for Sharon on Sunday, March 28, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. If you would like to attend, please call/text (214) 673-5001 for more information.

Denis and family, I was so saddened to hear of Sharon’s death. I look forward to seeing her soon in the resurrection that the Bible promises. When Myra was a baby, Sharon and I used to have a weekly meeting at Baskin Robbins. We laughed our way through a lot of ice cream. Every time I drive past that old building, I think of her. What a wonderful person she was. I pray that Jehovah will provide you with a measure of peace as all of us await her return. Becky Reddoch
