Thomas Edward Hamilton 77 years old passed away quietly on April 18, 2023.
Tommy was born on July 16th, 1945 to Virginia Wilson Hamilton and Thomas Payne Hamilton (Daddy Tee) Fort Worth, Texas.
Tommy worked for Davidson Jewelry Pawn Shop in Fort Worth at the age of 17 and trained to be a diamond buyer following in his father’s foot steps. From 1966-1971 Tommy worked for Continental National Bank, where he found his niche. Tommy then moved to First National Bank in Arlington where he rose to Vice-President while putting himself through night school at Texas Wesleyan College earning a B.B.A in Business Finance. He later moved to Forest Hill State Bank and became President. He continued his banking career at three different area banks before joining Citizens National Bank in Waxahachie, Texas as Senior Vice-President where he remained for 20 years.
Tommy served on the board of directors as a lifetime member of the National Cutting Horse Association. He became President of both the North and West Central Texas Cutting Horse Association. He was also a National Cutting Horse Association judge. Tommy was a Marshall in the Fort Worth Stock Show Parade Committee for 37 years. Tommy served on the board of directors for the following organizations CASA, Gingerbread House, Ellis County Appraisal District, Ellis County Expo Center and the Volunteer 6 Fire Department. Tommy’s involvement in the community and helping others was his true passion.
Tommy is survived by his wife Jane Hastings Hamilton of Waxahachie, Texas for 44 years. His daughter Samantha Foutz of Santa Fe, New Mexico and son Miles Thomas Hamilton of Brady, Texas and his sister Sandra Lewis of Joshua, Texas and her two sons Brent and Lance Lewis.
Graveside service will be held Saturday, April 22, 2023, at 2:00pm at Bethel Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Ellis County Youth Livestock Fund or the Volunteer 6 Fire Department.
